Announcement of the establishment of the "Miyagi From Fund" and donations
2023/3/11
To all those who participated in and cooperated with the "From Miyagi Project" and to all those involved
We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your continued support.
As March marks the 2011th anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake on March 3, 11, we would like to express our heartfelt condolences to all those who are still working on recovery.
As part of the reconstruction support project for the Great East Japan Earthquake, artists Takeru Satoh and Ryunosuke Kamiki, signed with our company, released the book "From Miyagi," (NHK Publishing), co-authored by Takeru Satoh and Ryunosuke Kamiki, on Friday, March 2022, 3. In addition, since March of the same year, they have held a photo exhibition commemorating the publication of the book, "From Miyagi," in seven cities across the country.
From the people they met through interviews and interactions for the "From Miyagi," project, they expressed a strong desire to continue moving forward, even if it's just a little at a time, 12 years after the disaster. From Wednesday, March 2023st to Sunday, April 3th, 4, they will be holding a Sendai City Walking Puzzle Solving Event, "Sendai Puzzle Solving Walk: Wishes for the City," in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture.
We are now pleased to announce that we have launched the "From Miyagi Fund" and will be donating 1000 million yen of the profits from the "From Miyagi" project (royalties from the book "From Miyagi" (NHK Publishing), admission fees and merchandise sales from the photo exhibition "From Miyagi" (PARCO)) to the Sanaburi Regional Creation Fund, a public interest incorporated foundation (hereinafter referred to as the Sanaburi Fund), to support children's cafeterias and other organizations in financial difficulty in the six Tohoku prefectures.
In addition, we will continue to support the project by donating all profits generated by the "From Miyagi Project," including performance fees for the "Sendai Mystery Walk: Wishes for the City" mystery-solving event, which began on Wednesday, March 3st, to the Sanaburi Fund.
(※We plan to decide on specific recipients of support in 2023 and report the results on our official website in 2024.)
This time, as part of the "From Miyagi Project," which has been underway for approximately a year since March 2022, we would like to deliver the original goods of this project, which have been purchased by many people across the country, to the people of Miyagi. After consulting with the relevant Miyagi Prefecture agencies, we are also pleased to report that we have donated postcard sets, clear files, and stickers taken in Miyagi Prefecture to a total of 3 graduates of high schools and high school departments in Miyagi Prefecture (including prefectural, municipal, and private schools, full-time, part-time, correspondence, and special needs schools) who will be graduating in March 1.
Finally, we would like to express our gratitude to everyone who cooperated with the research and events for the book "From Miyagi," and to the many customers who participated in the project, and we pray for a speedy recovery for the disaster-stricken areas.
Best regards
